The startup Albedo from Portugal, whose proposal is based on the production of bio-based insulating material for the construction sector, made from citrus biological waste, won the first prize of the VI edition of Cleantech Camp, endowed with 20,000 euros. The French project Spectrumlab, which proposes the manufacture of intelligent coatings for buildings, capable of passively heating and cooling them, was recognized with the 5,000 euros corresponding to the second prize. Finally, the Portuguese company Amnis Pura, which develops technology for gas purification for a wide range of industries, won the third prize in the call, also endowed with 5,000 euros
More than 90 business ideas from all over Europe submitted their applications to join the program during this year’s edition. Among all of them, we made a selection of 15 projects that came from Spain, Portugal, France, Sweden, Italy, Finland, and Ukraine that, between the months of April and July, followed the training program. The Cleantech Camp 2021 Committee selected six finalist projects, who presented their proposals, in a ceremony held at the Barcelona Activa headquarters, from which the three winners emerged.
Pilot financing
The entrepreneurs who have followed Cleantech Camp have been working during the program in the preparation of the pilots of their projects, which have been evaluated in recent months by our industrial partners for possible financing. In this sense, Enagás Emprende, Naturgy, and PRIO are working on a possible joint pilot, between the two or three interested corporations, with the Portuguese Amnis Pura. Likewise, CRH has opted to develop a pilot with Albedo, as well as Carbominer, a Ukrainian startup that is a finalist in this edition, which proposes the capture of CO² directly from the air at low cost.
Congratulations to all the winners, as well as to all the entrepreneurs who have followed the program!
